- The Institute of Earth Sciences Jaume Almera (IJA) belongs to the Spanish Research Council (CSIC). It was set up in 1965 and is located at the University Campus of Pedralbes in Barcelona.
- The activity of the ICTJA is undertaken on four Research Lines:
- The research activity is developed through the execution of contracts with public and private companies, and competitive research projects funded by the Catalan and the Spanish governments and the European Union.
